Responding to Adverse Childhood Experiences

On March 28th, GVASCD held an evening for educators entitled: Responding to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) – Developing Positive Strategies. This presentation delivered by Amy Scheel-Jones, MS Ed., focused on the following:

- Describing the key findings of the ACEs research that relate to education

- Identifying the 7C’s of Resilience Development

- Applying an approach to developing resilience strategies embedded within a Multi-Tiered System of Support

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are based on a study that began in 1995, eventually involving 17,332 participants, which focused on childhood adversity, disruptive and hurtful experiences.
