Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs):The Impact on Health, Wellness & Education

This presentation will cover the original ACEs study including key findings, how ACEs impact the brain, and the connection to schools. Participants then learn about the findings from the Monroe County YRBS/ACEs analysis laying the foundation for the importance of implementing change in order to improve a full array of education/health outcomes. Ideas for practice change are offered such as the principles of trauma informed schools and the value of resiliency in an introductory way.
